My question is none technical I just want your help in choosing which UNIX system to go on for certification ,I have little experience in HP-UX but I'm not certified nowadays HP-UX is not working out as I guess so I decided to be certified on either (AIX) or (Solaries) so I want to know the future is for which one of them and which one of them is more used than the other.

Thanks for you help in advance .

Regards

Hi,

Don't say HP-UX is out dated, Most of the organizations using HP-UX also, talk to HP sales rep or customer care people to know about their customers base using HP-UX.

IBM has the plans to phase out the AIX down the line, they are concentrating on Linux and Mainframe(Z os)

Solaris is in market(as India is concerned), but the Sun is not doing well (look at their shares value), from my view it looks unstable.

My suggestion is on Linux, wherein all top Unix vendors are working on.

Hello I am working extensively on SCM and Unix

I'll agree that if you are searching for certification that Linux is the way go.

I wouldn't base Sun's share price on their unix stability. Sun continues to upgrade their OS and there's a very large installed base. Solaris 10 is presently being released.

Thanks for the reply , Yes I think your're right guys Linux is the key ,so as far as I know RedHat is better than Mandrake in Enterprise organizations .
