Comment:

I run RedHat 6.1 with kernel 2.2.12-20 and i recently configured it for writing cd's.

I've added: append="hdc=ide-scsi hdd=ide-scsi"
to my lilo.conf

Then i've inserted the module ide-scsi into my kernel with insmod..... writing works fine, from cd to cd, from disk to cd, blanking cd-rw's.......
bat when i'm blanking a cd-rw or i'm writing from disk to cd and i then try to mount anything in my cdrom-drive i'm in trouble.

for some reason the system try's to reset the scsi-bus (which isn't really there ofcourse, both drives are ide) and i geth a whole bunch of errors over my screen. When i just put my writer on
ide-scsi and the cdrom on ide, i still cant mount it..... the messages are gone bat still the terminal freezes, the only way out is killing the terminal (when both the drives are accessed thrue
ide-scsi even killing the terminal where i issued the mount command doesn't work).

Is there sombody who has a solution for this ?
Thx
