telnet through shell script

Hi, can i do telnet to the remote machine with automatic login and password through shell script ? if yes how. I've tried the answer given by someone but it doesn't work. regards appreciate your help

It is difficult for a shell to do interactive work like telnet, rlogin, passwd. Have you tried expect ? http://expect.nist.gov/
