Hi All,
I'm quite new to the Linux and UNIX world. We have a SCO UNIX machine that we use for our customer database. We print invoices from it to our network laser printer. When I tried to setup our system to print a backup confirmation to this same laser printer but it doesn't work. I also tried testing the printer at the command line and I get the following error:
# tail /log/LAST_Master | lp -d lexmark_1
UX:lp: ERROR: Destination "lexmark_1" is unknown to the LP print service. #
If I look in the /etc/hosts file, I do have an entry for the lexmark_1 with it's IP Address. I'm not sure what I need to do next. As I said above, this system prints invoices to this printer fine.
Summary: Hello! Simple question, how do I do this? I have a Xerox printer that has a builtin network card using the tcp/ip protocol. How do I get solaris to print to this network printer? Thanks. -David...
