Hi!

I'd like to unpack a tar file over SSH. I just have no idea what commands I need to do that.

If you are ssh'd into a remote box and that tar file is there the commands would be the same:
tar file

tar -xvf filename

I don't think it will be effected anyway in Secure shell.
