Subject: Solaris 8 error scanning devices on install
Comment:

i am trying to install SOlaris 8 on a new server with an intell L440GX MB, running 256 ECC ram dual 600 processors and am getting an error. If i boot to either the Device configuration assistant diskette or directly to CD, just after i press F2 to scan for devices i get this error: "rm_check:top_realmem=0x0 bot_realmem=0x9a0a0 overlap size=630944
prom_panic:memory soon to hosed" The manufacturer has replaced the Mem, MB and Cpu's already and we still have the same issue. If we disable the cache in the bios though, it will install fine, takes forever of course. if i then re-enable cache i will get the error on boot.
Any ideas? I have flashed to newest bios also and have tried different scsi controllers. currently i am using the integrated adaptec 7896 U2 controller.

I am sorry - I have no answer, but this is the same error that I am getting. Did you find any responses or clues or how to fix it? Please let me know . I am also interested in solving this problem... Thanks, Dileep.
