I want to have dual-boot with Solaris 8 and XP home edition. Is it possible? If it is, then which do I install first? Do I need any extra driver or something? Please e-mail me if u know the steps. My e-mail: nyc_chris@yahoo.com

i don't do this but i think:): firt: install Xp second: install Solaris(with boot manager) you must first install Xp because it rewrite MBR, (ofcourse if you can install Sol's boot loader manually then you don't have to worry about which OS install first) i don't know how "good" is Sol's boot manager but it should boot both OS Install it in MBR.

I was trying to do the same thing. I have XP already on my machine. I have my hard drive partitioned into two parts, xp on the first. However, when I tried to install Solaris 8, it could not use the second partition ( both partitions are set to be primary ) even I hided the first partition and set the second one as active one. In other words, when I customized my disk slice, it only knew there was some free space on the second partition but I could not change the file system for fdisk to format it. Any one has experience to resolve the issue? Thanks.
