Hi Gurus,
I'm in the process of deploying my Cobol application (comprises of CGI's and its server pgms) onto Unix platform. I could able to set up the web browser on unix and I could see my unix files under $HOME/public_html directory. How -
* before calling my main logon page, I want to setup my Unix ENV by calling few unix shell scripts??
* What is the purpose of .html file under each $HOME directory?
* Do i need to make cgi-bin directory on unix and put my executables there?

Hope by seeing to my strange questions you can feel am new to this area. Any in-depth look will give me more knowledge on the subject am working on. Appreciated !!
FYI .. i'm using NetScape Fastrack web server on SCO UNIX_SVR5.
Thanks!
Sayeed
