we have a LAN network at school... hove do I get the ip to the server.. any comands in dos?? netstat only shows me my own ip but not the servers. plz mail me:) h_joachim_johnsen@hotmail.com

Try running 'arp -a' from the commandline. You can also run winipcfg from the run menu. If the server in question is a proxy or router etc., examining the gateway in your TCP/IP setting in the control panel under network can also yield your internal server IP.
Since you didn't state whether you wanted an external address or an internal address, you may also go here to get your external address:
http://northdelta.net/ipadd.asp
But you have to be getting some type of internet access *through* the server to get the proper external IP.
You can also examine the header of an E-mail you send to yourself to yield the external address.
There are many many ways to find IP addresses, and I've only addressed a few of them.
I guess the last one for finding your internal IP is to find the name of the server using NET VIEW and attempting to:
ping *insert server name here*
The internal server IP will appear in the list that pops up.
have fun
