Seperate gateways for Cards in AIX

Comment:
Is it possible to have seperate gateways for two different network adapters in AIX 4? We have a UNIX box that has a place where you seem to be able to change the default gateways for an individual card in SMIT but when you do it says updating en0 etc....no mention of en1...but when you look at en1 the gateway is changed for that adapter as well?...
I know that you can have multiple gateways in AIX 5 but all I need to do is have seperate gateways....not multple ones.
Please e-mail me any responses that you feel may help.

Steve,
there is no possibleity to enter a sencond default gateway into AIX 4.x
But default gatway is not the first selection. it will work like: Check if a route exist if not go to default gateway. All you can do is choose as default gateway the gateway which includes the biggest amount of subnet's. And use for the other interface static routs to the subnetworks. Take care that you use the right commands to fix the static routs also in the ODM. Other wise you will lost them after reboot.
Summary: In SCO unix the command 'tape -a 0 setcomp ' turns off compression, enabling drives of different capacities to read the same tapes. But I don't the command in AIX. Can anybody help me ?? ...
