I have a samba server. I have been asked to send an excel spreadsheet residing on the server to a couple of mail recipients every morning. I want to set up a cron job. Does anyone know how i can write a mail script so it will mail an excel attachment. A text file is easy but i cant seem to find anything that will send the attachment.. thanks for your help!

An example of a mailing script.

Or better, sending email attachments with Perl. This has practically a complete script.

try reading the manpage for mpack
