Comment: I have a system that uses Unix Samba as the firewall for security and has windows98 for storing files. the person administering it skipped and changed all the passwords. How do I get into it to change the administrator password as you have to go through a web browser to access the login as far as I know?

Reply: (edit)Samba is a SMB server not a firewall. To change your root password; as root on the samba server execute this command> (path to samba)/bin/smbpasswd root will allow you to change the root password.
