Does anyone have a shell script that will find old users (a list of 9 users)in the /etc/passwd file then remove them?

Thanks for any help.

If I had a script, I wouldn't give it to you. In my opinion, you are asking to create problems for yourself and the system.

If you really have to edit /etc/passwd, I recommend that you use the vipw command. Most *nix systems support it. vipw which, by default, uses vi editing commands, performs the proper consistency checks on /etc/passwd when you leave the editor. MAN vipw for more information.
