Comment:
Hi,
I need to create a shell script that is able to copy all files and subdirectories of a specified directory into a UNIX box via ftp. mget only copies the files from the current directory.
Does anyone know of a command that is like a recursive mget to allow me to copy all sub-directories in a single command?

Any help will be appreciated!!
Thanks.

why don't you try to tar the directory first and then
get it via ftp with get?

tar xcvf tar_name.tar.gz directory_name

hope it helps!

sorry, typo error

tar cvfz tar_name.tar.gz directory_name

The z option only works if you have gzip installed.
You may need also to add the hyphen
