Folks:
Here's a humdinger with the windows telnet utility, changing the buffer size, and using the vi editor. Try this one:
1. Open a telnet session to some UNIX box, and on the menu bar click "Terminal" -> "Preferences"
2. Change the buffer size to let's say 50.
3. Click OK to accept the changes.
4. After you have logged into your UNIX session, launch the vi editor and open some file that you know is more than 50 lines.
5. Scroll down, using the arrow keys (if enabled) or the J key, I believe.
6. The last line should be the only one changing.
7. On the menu bar, change the buffer size back to 25 and click OK.
8. Scroll down again, and the last line is the only one changing still. Is this some weird telnet window bug, or some configuration I have to do in UNIX?
yuckmouth.

Ah, yes. :-) I'm not exactly sure how to cure this, but this works for me sometimes.
Make sure that you've set your device to vt100 when you login (set TERM=vt100;export TERM). Also, after you change the telnet buffer size, Windows automatically resizes your telnet window to the max. Resize it back to approx 24 lines. I just did this and it worked fine.
Have you tried ReflectionX 8.0 (for UNIX)? It has an easy to use wizard that can save all of your settings to an iconized RelfectionX "program" (sans the password). Very nice. I set these up for the people I work with so they don't have to worry about all this "tech" stuff. :-)
