Hi!
I have small problem in connecting my applicatio developed in VB to Oracle, using ODBC. Orocle is residing in Unix server. I tried to set up the ODBC connectivity by setting up a Oracle ODBC driver. But I get a error"Oracle Client and Networking Components or Not found", and in case if I get across this error, I have created set a tables, so what should i specify my Database Name as.\
If you know any Newsgroup on Oracle or, do let me know the URL.

Praveen

Hi.
I connect with the DB Oracle usualy from an application in Developer, not in VB, but I think you need the software sql*net, from Oracle, not only the ODBC.
If that, in the same software package for the ODBC should be the sql*net.
Good look. Eduardo

Hi Praveen,
The short answer is you need to install
the Oracle client on your PC, and configure
SQL*Net.Once you have the Oracle client components
installed, go to the
%ORACLE_HOME%\network\admin
directory and edit you sqlnet.ora and
tnsnames.ora files.Look at the sample entries in the existing
tnsnames.ora and set up your connection
accordingly. If you need more assistance, go to
technet.oracle.com and look at the documentation. Everything you need is there.
If, after reading the appropriate documentation at this sight, you still have
questions, you can send me email.

I have a report of ORACLE but I don't have the information or anything about them Can you give me some information for make a report to present my teacher? Please
