I am using SCO OpenServer Release 5. I have created a .bashrc file with aliases, but the I get errors telling me these alias not found or invalid alias. I removed them all except the one below:

alias myhome "cd /usr/myhome/myhomepath"

I also tried this with single quotes. I'm sort of new to shell programming. Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong.

I'm not familiar with bash, but for ksh the syntax needs an equal sign, with no spaces before or after:

alias myhome="cd /usr/myhome/myhomepath"

Also, doing "cd" with no parameter will put you in your home directory (it goes to $HOME).
