anyone know what the problem is when the redhat installation program doesn't find my network card (Realtek RTL8019 PnP ISA)? the installation of Redhat itself works fine accept for this..

Well, I tried to do do what the above textfile does but I get an "error 2" after I type make menuconfig.
Anyone know what that mean?

I have the exact same problem and I am also very new to linux. Though, I have found something that seems to be a diagnostics/setup-program for NE2000 compatible cards. Only problem is that the damn program is only available as source-code and I haven't the slightest idea how to use it... HEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!

I had the exact same problem as described above. To solve it I first followed the steps descibed in ftp://ftp.realtek.com.tw/LANCARD/drivers/8019/LINUX.TXT But I also had to set the cards IRQ to 3 and the IO-port to 300. No other values I tried worked for me.

Just re -compile your kernel with the following driver:

It's working fine, but read the manual.

I had the exact same problem. If to chose ne in linuxconf, the modprobe reports Not Found.
