Printing from UNIX to a Network Printer

I am printing from a UNIX svr4 system to a network connected HP Laserjet printer. Files will print, but there are no carriage returns or line feeds so the lines of the files print across the page with the staircase effect. Can anyone please tell me why?, and offer some solution.

Hello,
I assume you are using a command similar to: lpsystem -p printername -s systemname to create the printer.
If so try creating it with: lpsystem -p printername -s systemname\!text

Anthony.

I am having terrible problems with my unix server to find the network printer. It will send and receive packets but send information. Does different operating systems printing to the same printer matter any?? Please help
Summary: Hello! Simple question, how do I do this? I have a Xerox printer that has a builtin network card using the tcp/ip protocol. How do I get solaris to print to this network printer? Thanks. -David...
