Can get ping. Installed Vision2K. When in Unix Network window, opening server (unix server) I am asked for user and password. I enter root and pass, admin and pass, and unixd and pass. Get error message. Cannot connect to server syscov (Connection Refused). I am running Advanced server on the Unix machine. I can ping the server at 127.0.0.1 the others at 127.0.0.6, 127.0.0.123. TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, Netbeui are all loaded on the Win98 machine. I have a Farallon ewave ISA card running with the 3-com Etherlink III 3C509/3C509b driver in ISA mode. I wondering if I should just try samba. Allow though I suppose Vision2K should allow me to connect.

Any ideas?

don't use the 127 network scheme as it is used for the tcpip software on ant localhost

I am not using the 127 network scheme now. I changed my SCO host to 192.168.1.1 and my windows 98 vision eclipse to 192.168.1.10. Now I cannot ping. I get no echo host response. I get nothing in the network test from eclipse. I can still read to scosysv hard drive from the windows 98 machine using the advanced server functions of scosysv (full emulation of NT 3.5).

Got any other ideas?

You need to enable Plain Text Passwords for Windows 98 and Windows 95 with the security patch. Go to www.sco.com/ta and use the search string windows98. It will have the full details on how to fix this problem
