I'm looking for a way to send message from a unix computer to a windows computer (like the windwos "net send" command).

Has anyone a solution ?

There is no such utility. but if the client has connected to unix server through telnet then you could display message on his terminal using commands wall, write ..

What about Samba?? That will enable you to send messages to a Windows PC using the PC Identification Name (as set in the Network Properties).

The PC will need to be running the c:\windows\winpopup.exe to receicve the message.

use: smbclient -M roger -U guest

-M is for popup
roger is the name of the destination host

-U is for specify a username as source
