Subject: Need help installing Solaris 8 |
Comment: I have a Pentium 200 MMX and trying to install Solaris 8 onto it....the thing is I only managed to get past the Language Selection....then it would say that the installation cannot detect the right kind of hard disk and installation cannot continue.... Anyone has any experience wit this? By the way, the hard disk is blank wit nothing in it no partitions either.... Thank you very much

Reply: (edit)You say that it does not have any partitions. I think that you have to partition it first. I suggest FAT32 if you have a HD bigger than 4gb. If not then use FAT.

Reply: (edit)I have a slightly different problem. I have an edition of Solaris 8 SPARC edition which I would very much like to run on my X86 machine. Can anyone suggest how I would go about doing this without decompiling and recompiling all the source code for the OS or purchasing Solaris X86? -elbob
