Hi
Is there any way in unix/linux for adding/deleting IP addresses. I know about ifconfig but it writes in the kernel memory and does not refresh after reboot. Another way is through adding new file for each network interface in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts but its not for me. I want a command line utility which remembers the settings even after reboot.
Thanks in advance.

Gaurav

Gaurav,

It should be pretty straight forward if you are also modifying all applicable files (including the hostname. file, like /etc/hostname.hme0)

You shouldn't need to reboot your system (its unix) - but if you do, and it reverts back to the old config, you missed part of the step...

HTH,
Ari
