I hope you want a freeBSD file system. Just dump the partitions and format them to the file system you want. Use the disk utility that is native to your OS Fdisk?

FDisk may work but I have had some unpredictable results with this. Disks repartitioned with FDisk have come up with a non-existant "non-dos partition" in further fdisk sessions. I hope someone knows a better way to reclaim HDDs from the Linux formatting ! Please write !

Use FDISK and then do FDISK /MBR to clear everything out...

I was able to uninstall by using RedHat's diskdruid and deleting all the linux partitions. The exit was ugly, but it then allowed me to use fdisk and format to recapture all the space on my c: drive. Well, almost all.
The trouble I'm having is that LILO (I assume it is LILO) seems to be in the boot sector and wants to start up linux. It fails because it expects partitions which are not there.
How do I clean out my boot sector?

you can use disk utilities ( fdisk and disk druid ) that came with linux to uninstall it and use dos fdisk to delete LILO by command fdisk/mbr
What if you have a disk that was originally partitioned with Linux, but you do not have Linux to undo the Partitions? Is there a way to get just the Partition utility?
