Comment:

I am brand new to Unix/Linux and it's variants.

I downloaded an iso of Knoppix and burned it to a cd.

It boots well up to a point and then stops.

It hangs at detecting hardware. I belive it may be the Gateway keyboard (USB)but do not have a another KB to try.

I have used the knoppix expert, Kn~desktop, and Failsafe modes all with same results.

I get quite a few screens of info, including the little Penguin in the upper left corner, but the boot process hangs at some point.

Is there something obvious I'm missing? Could the KB issue be it?

Like I said, I have never used this before and any tips would be greatly appreciated.

TIA<

Larry
