Irix boot failure

My Indy2 was hacked and I can not access the harddrive to Install a new operting system (6.5). When I try to install the Installation tools I get an errot indicating invalid swap. I have tried to boot from the CD without success (I get disk is full error). I know I need to reformat the 2GB drive but do not know how to access FX at this point or how to partition (size, lable, ...) the drive once I get in to FX.
