i have had a hard time setting up intel 810 drivers on linux 6.0,
i also cannot remember the command for changing my monitor,
the resolution is killing me though i NEED better than 640x480x16--it sucks
anyone with a good suggestion on a book to learn linux is welcome too,
i will take anything i can get.

When I had Rh6.0 it came with XFree86Setup - stick this in a console and see what happens. It allows you to set a default resolution/colour depth, mouse protocol etc. and writes a new XF86Config for you. If you don't have it you can get it from:
www.redhat.com/swr/i386/XFree86-XF86Setup-3.3.3.1-49.i386.html
Congratulations on getting an 810 based system running, It took me a while to suss mine out! If you want to give people the benefit of your experience you could browse the Intel 810 Forum (if you don't already) - a lot of people have problems in getting their Distro set up.
Someone bought me The Complete Idiots Guide to Linux (I guess they thought I was a complete idiot :-)). Its pretty good on the basics but if you want something deeper maybe a SAMS title like Redhat 6 Unleashed would suit.
All the best,
Delboy:-)

Me again....
If you get XFree86Setup and run it, when you exit it will kick back to Konsole (or whatever you prefer) and ask if you want to set a link to the server (y/n). Say no! You've already set the link, and if you say yes you will have to set it again (as I learnt the first time I used it - Doh!).Hope this helps, Delboy:-)
