PC must be able to boot from CDROM
 Free space must be availabe.
DO NOT CREATE PARTITION UNDER DOS OR WINDOWS.
If you have already created a pertition for Solaris then use fdisk and delete before proceeding.
Insert Solaris software 1 cd and boot PC
 Select Language
 Select Locale
 Select Networked
 Select No for use DHCP
 Enter host name
Enter an IP address or try 192.168.1.100
 Netmask for (9) 255.255.255.0
If you have an existing network then use an IP address that does not clash with other hosts. Use the same netmask as other local hosts too.
 Select NO for IPv6
Select None for Name service. (DNS)
 Select suitable Geographic region etc
 For software select Entire Distribution
 Note. Create /, /usr, & swap partitions.
make root around 750mb, swap = memory size, /usr 1gb+
You can get Solaris to do it automatically then use the customize option to change the sizes.
After partitioning disks choose Auto Reboot when prompted.
System will install Cd 1, reboot then prompt for Software 2 CDROM.
 Good Luck
