If you want to use both of your systems, you will need a dual boot system.

I hoop you have more of of one partition.

If not you will need to format your harddrive. boot your pc with a boot disc.

Start Fdisk and create a partition for your windows ( DO NOT USE THE ENTIRE DRIVE ).

Reboot your pc again and reinstall windows.
Once that you have finished the installation process of windows you can start the installation process for solaris.

if you have solaris on a cd, put the cd in your cd-rom drive. reboot your system. go into your BIOS and change your boot properties to "boot from CD-ROM" , save it and reboot the system.
Your system will boot from your cd-rom and will start your install program for solaris.

You will be asked to create partitions etc.

Once the installation process is finished you will be able to start with in unix or windows (your lilo boot created in the solaris installation process ).

I hope this is enough information to install solaris on your pc.

My computer is old, and it won't allow me to change BIOS to CD (boot only from A or C drive). Solaris 7 has a CD and a flopy disk (assistant disk), is there a way of installing Solaris without changing BIOS? How? Thanks.
