Hi, I need some information about what is the significance of having NIS on unix servers. Also, how does it affect the working of a particular unix login on a operating machine.
I'll elaborate on this. I have a certain login deeps on server XYZ. But i come to know that the properties of this server is configured on some other server ABC. this is came to know via a command "ypwhich". this is a NIS command. I wish to know now how does this server SBC affect my login deeps on server XYZ.
Will it affect, the usage of resources used by any processes invoked via deeps login.
