Comment:

I am running Solaris 7 and am trying to monitor log messages on a particular port and direct them to a log file. When I try to run a tip in the background (using "tip -9600 /dev/cua/63 >/tmp/junk & ), when a message is generated, it is not being passed to the log file and I get a SIGTTOU message. The original tip session is still active. The log file is created, but no data is written.
What am I doing wrong?
Please help,
Thanks
