Comment:

I have a system running SCO OpenServer 5.0 and would like to dial in from two loactions with Windows95 machines. At present we dial in but have to ask the operator to set up the machine for dial-in by running a routine called link-on then running one calleD link-off to allow the machine to be able to dial out to remote branches. I would like information on how to install on demand dial in from the two locations without affecting the ability of the machine to dial out (when modem not in use of course)
Thanks.
Orville

Nonsense. You don't have to do anything except things up right in the first place.

When your port is not in use, make sure it's
owned by uucp. Enable the upper-case-name for that port.

That's it. I've had my ports that way for ten years, and you can dila in or dial out without any further intervention.
