I have an unformatted DOS partition on my SOC Openserver 505a system. I am new to UNIX and need to know how do I format this partiton? When I type DOS at the boot: prompt I get this message:
CYL OVF
This is: The operating system lies on a cylinder greater than 1024; masterboot cannot load it.
Is the the DOS partition that is greater than 1024 or my unix partition? Can I reduce this size without losing data on my UNIX partition? I need to Ghost this drive and I cannot because the DOS partition is unformatted.
