OK, I'm pretty good with computers but unix is quite different from windows.

My work runs a SCO open sever and just had a mother board go down. Luckly I found a mother board that would let the system boot and run again. I have built a whole new system for a fresh install of unix. I tryed SCO on this new server but it didn't like the memory and the IDE controler of this new mother board. I then installed Solaris 10, I have the system 100% up and running on the new hardware.

real question-----
Now I have to install some software my work uses, I have the cd and copyed all the files to a temp directory. I'm just not sure how to run the install file/script!!! Frist real time getting into the nitty gritty of unix, I've used it day to day for little things

I read a little about a install command, not fully understanding it.

Thanks!

For detailed instructions on using pkgadd see the Solaris 10 System Administration Guide. It is available at docs.sun.com
