FTP moving directories

I know how to move files between windows and my unix box using FTP at cmd and then connecting via that way. I wanted to know if there is a way to move entire directories. Like in windows the whole folder i want to transfer something like this over, is there a way

Any suggestions? Am i crazy i want to pull the whole directory ex. /home/vandelin i guess the directory vandelin
