Hi Everyone,

My Unix system has come into problem.
I can't telnet to the machine through LAN.

When I boot a system, it gives message "Type Control-d for normal login or type root password for system maintenance."

After logined as root in System maintenance mode, I can't write to any file,
e.g.

Vi /etc/hosts

gives error -> /var/tmp/Exfjksl REad onlu file system

vi temp.txt
also gives error.

I can't even run commands like "df -k" etc.
It gives no output on that.

"init 6" also doesn't work.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,
Kamlakar

probably:
fsck /dev/hda1 - assuming linux is on the 1st partition.

or
