Comment:

I have already created a script that will create a new user on our HP and SCO boxes. If the user needs to be on every box we have, which is approx. 20 different ones, I have to log into each one and run my script.

To make things easier and more efficient, I would like to add something to the script that would create this same user on any other Unix box that I choose.

I.E.

Test01 has been created on this box.

Are there any other boxes you would like to add this user? (y or n): y

Enter name: HPPROD01
Test01 added to HPPROD01

Continue? (y or n): n

End script.

I know how to script the above, but what I don't know is how to to send the user information to other boxes in order to create the user.

What do I need to make this work or is it even possible?

Thanks in advance,

Ph03n1x

Consider a consilidate user auth system like NIS. A central authentication system will scale.
