I've want to know is it possible to dual boot Windows 2000 and Solaris 8. What's the partion I need to config. Coz. I read the manual that I need 2 partion to boot Solaris. 1 for Solaris and 1 for boot.
I have the same question, but I think it is not possible even to install Solaris 8 if you have your FIRST partition formatted in NTFS (like I do). Don't bother telling that I have to repartition leaving a first small partition in FAT system. I do not need Solaris 8 so badly. Also, the Sun people have to think that Linux boots easily with Win2k...

There is an interesting FAQ on OS interoperability between Solaris and NT on the Solaris for Intel x86 web page. The URL is: http://sun.pmbc.com/faq/9.html
Sections 9.2, 9.3, and 9.8 are pretty helpful.

I have win2k in a logical partition(NTFS) in an extended partition (linux speak - /dev/hda5 in /dev/hda2).
I have Solaris8 in my second primary partition(linux speak - /dev/hda3).
I have winME in my first primary partition (linux speak - /dev/hda1).
