I'm running Slakware with kernel 2.0.36 and this autodetects the realtek if you define it as a pci ne2000 clone.

The kernel 2.0.36 (teh default in mandrake 5.3) detects this card if you tell it you have a NE2000 PCI (or compatible) card.

I was looking for this driver for Windows 98 because I suspected the card and my new cable modem did not like each other from time to time. This address turned up and I noticed something about Linux. Try this address. Maybe what you need is there: http://www.realtek.com.tw/cn/NEW/doc/8029-driver.htm
