Do I have to pay for Linux ?

I was told that Unix software as well as Linux is free but I saw Linux in the shop for about 90 CAN dollars. So, I am confused ... do I have to buy that Linux for 90 dollars ... or it's avaliable free somewhere on web or ftp servers ? ...

Hi; Actualy, Linux geeks pay nothing. If you know how to do everything, go to here http://www.redhat.com/download/mirror.html and download it or you can order those cheapo CDs. Good luck

linuxmall.com, cheapcds.com are the some of the places were you can get (almost) any linux distribution for just price of media + shipping, which is way less than what you'll pay for in shop. But you get 'only' CD, no support, no install guide etc.
