sorry i was running late that day. My question was:

I have a script running as root every thursday. The script is creating a new file and cut's information to >> new file.

When crontab launches the script it furthermore sends me a mail. My question is:
Is there a way to disable the "Send mail responce" ??

cron should send the stdout to the owner of the job. If the job produces no output, there should be no mail.
