Comment:

I have a unix account in server running sun os system 5(agbo.cse.mrt.ac.lk). Earlier my mail account was also in that server and mail variable was initialised in .profile and i was able to use mailx, mail....,But then our mail accounts were transfered to another mail server(cses.cse.mrt.ac.lk).Now how can I configue mail,mailx...etc, I was able to configure pine by setting the SMTP server to new server, the problem is how to configure other mail commands.
I also wants find out how can i set my login shell. Now the login shell is sh, how can i set it to bash?

In response to your second question, running Solaris you have two options:
1. Run /bin/admintool, select to view users, select youreself and choose edit. From there it is self-explanatory.
2. vi the /etc/password file and within your login entry change ":sh" to ":bash".

Hope this helps. How did you configure your SMTP server to a new server?
