We have a Sun desktop dedicated to piece of test equipment in the lab and the monitor went south on us after about 5 yrs. We tried to switch to a new flat panel today and couldn't get the OS to recognize the new monitor. We are not familiar with Unix aside from commands needed for the test method. Can anyone advise a code or instruction how to get Unix to accept a new monitor? Thank you.

thanks for reply - I responded to this the same day you commented but found the reply not here so once again, you may be right. we will resolve the issue by replacing with another sun monitor. thanks again.
