Comment:

I am trying to do a chmod on /mnt/hdc1. the owner and
group are both root, and the permission set is rwxr--r--. i
am trying to change it to rwxrwxrwx as well as change the
UID and GID of it from root to my personal account. I "su
root" before doing it so i am authenticated, but it still gives
me this error message: "chown: changing ownership of `/
mnt/hdc1': Operation not permitted" Any ideas?? Thanks.
