How can I change the overall screen resolution
on a Sun Ultra 10 workstation. If I'm on a
Windows PC, I know how to change from 640X480,
to 800X600, to 1024X768. Can you do this in
Unix? My problem is Netscape. The icons and
words are so small. I have tried the edit,
preferences, appearance, fonts but that only
changes the body of the screen and not the
icons and menu items. I would just like to
change the entire Unix screen to be much bigger. Any help is appreciated.

I have no expertise in a Sun Ultra 10. I'm not sure if it's going to be the same as I use an older Sun system, but what I do is I reboot, hit escape to prevent a network boot and then hit the menu key.
A menu pops up that allows me to change all my network properties, including screen resolution. You can probably also edit configuration scripts for X to change the resolution.
I'm not sure.

That last answer wasn't very good. Here is a better one IMHO.
#ffbconfig -prconf
(This tells you what your options are and what your current resolution is)
#ffbconfig -dev /dev/fbs/ffb0 -res 1024x768x60 tryNOTE: The path to your video card will be shown with the ffbconfig -prconf command so make the appropriate substitutions. The same applies for the resolution setting options. Good Luck!

I've tested it on an Ultra 60 with Solaris 5.60 and it works.
Many thanks, Jess!Greetings from Barcelona - Spain
