Hi!
I have three CD-ROM drives on my computer (one of which is writable)
I'd like to know if there is a way to se Linux so it will automatically mount a CD when I put it in the drive, and automatically dismount it when I hit "Eject"?
Look for autofs... This is not exactly what you want but it comes close to it. The "vold" (Volume daemon) on Solaris does exactly what you want.
