Hi
I cannot ping my default gateway , but can ping the ip address of server. I have manually added the default gateway using route add default ip address. But when I do arp -a I am getting an old ip address that was on server before it was changed.Noradanjo

Remove an previous arp entry with
$arp -d
Might be its is defined manually.Once its not in cache list run
$traceroute <IP Address>
and if u will get the complete path trace properly then ur problem is resolved.

You can try rebooting the router/switch the clear the arp. I have the same problem and the solution is to reboot my wireless router and broadband modem.
