Okay - this is probably a stupid question, but I have read all the instructions i could as close as possible, and I've tried tips and ideas from these forums but no luck. I'm trying to install Fedora through CD (I've burned all 3 CDs), but I cannot get my computer to boot from these CDs. ~I assure you, my computer CAN boot from CD, and i've tested by using other bootable cds - so I think i'm just making the boot cds wrong~. Can someone please just give me the full scoop on how to make a linux redhat/fedora bootable CD so I dont have to waste my 4th consecutive burnable CD-R? thank you.

Did you follow the correct procedure according to 'Code Listing 2:' in this Gentoo document:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/handbook-x86.xml?part=1&chap=2#doc_chap3
(Fedora ISOs shouldn't be any different)?
If you've already tried all that then maybe your BIOS/CD drive combination just doesn't like booting from CD-Rs or even just doesn't like the particular brand/quality of CD-R you have. Check your mobo and CD drive manufacturer websites for upgrades and check the quality of your CD-Rs (green/blue=low, silver/gold=high). You could always try an ftp install which just requires the burning of a few floppies.

can you mount and read the CD'
s under a Windoze system? - If so, you can write a boot diskette (I think its under dosutils - check with google and/or the above gentoo site)

Okay heres the deal - I have made a boot diskette. When I boot using the fedora project (new ver. of red hat) diskette, i start to install - but it asks for a cd-rom containing the Fedora Project CD. I put in the CD and it doesn't work? I might be burning it wrong? Here is how I've burned it: 1)Open Cd Creator 6.
2)Select Create Disc Using ISO image
3)Selece the 1 file and burn it.
What am I doing wrong?
