Help.

I'm working on a project that needs to provide encrypted file transmission over the internet, in addition to authentication.

IOW, I want to put up an FTP server in which a client connects via SLL through their favorite browser (Netscape, IE), is then prompted for their unix account ID and password, and then allows them to put/get files in the areas that their unix ID allows... all over SSL.

Does a company provide such a product or do I have to piece all of this together? Is there such a thing as "ftps://"? If so, I understand on how ftp 'gets' work (i.e. click on a link), but how to FTP puts work through a browser?

Hi Brian,

Have you found the answer? If yes, could you please help me to setup such server(s) and which clients I can use?

Thanks in advance.

Phong.
