Does anyone know how to reduce swap space in AIX, please? I had used the "chps -s 4 hd6" command to add 64MB swap space, but I couldn't reduce the extended size now. Thanks a lot.

The procedure is essentially as follows:

Create a new paging space.

Set the new paging space so it is active on reboot.

Set hd6 so that it will not be used on reboot.

Reboot the system.

Do a lsps. Only the new paging space should be in use.

Remove the hd6 logical volume.

Recreate hd6 at the right size.

Set hd6 so it is active at reboot.

Set the temporary paging space so it is not active at reboot.

Reboot the box.
